All India Institute of Local Self Government (AIILSG) founded in 1926 as recognized autonomous research and training institution in the field of urban development and governance. AIILSG is registered as a society in 1970 under society act. The Institute has a strong network at all India level at 28 locations. AIILSG has close work ties with various renowned International bodies viz. UN-HABITAT, UNDP, UNICEF, WHO, GTZ, CLGF IULA Etc. to impart training and research activities.

With globalization and open market policy followed by the Govt. of India, the demand for Quality Management Post Graduates has increased steeply.
